The animals used to describe the beast represent the character and nature of his kingdom. In Daniel 7 we get another more grotesque picture of the beast that parallels the passages in Revelation. The other animals in Daniel 7 represent nations/kingdoms that will be present during the final days. Two-thirds of the nations will follow the beast and one-third will be conquered and destroyed. The beast will blaspheme God, Jesus, and the people of God as the spirit of the Antichrist is doing today.
