The beast (known as the Antichrist) will arise from within the temple—from the Holy Place. He will be found in the highest circles of “Christianity” such that when the Destroyer possesses him no one will know that he has always been a traitor. He will influence those in the apostate religion who are spiritually immoral, who oppress and persecute God’s people, and who will kill them and conquer them at the beast’s command. It is the religious apostate system that turns against the witnesses but only when they have completed their testimony.
