In this passage of John we encounter Jesus' intimate fellowship with the Father as he prays for his disciples and the future believers. He prayed that the Father would watch over us with the Word (Jesus Himself) such that evil does not influence our lives (not that we would be absent from encountering evil, but that we would not lose faith in the midst of it). We discuss why Judas was not under God's provision, and why he was not washed in the Word nor chosen by God to believe in Jesus. Furthermore we discuss the sanctification/transformation of our minds by the Word, and how that is accomplished by living by faith in the new creation.
