When Jesus began his ministry, he was quickly recognized as the Chosen One of God by John, Peter, Andrew, Philip and Nathanael. This was not because of what he offered, but because of who he was - which is key in understanding our own relationship with God. In growing to know who God is through Christ, we gain a steadfast love for His nature and presence in our lives, rather than the ever-changing emotions that stem from what we do or do not have in our lives. Drawing upon Old Testament history, Christ revealed himself to be the connection between Heaven and Earth, the blessing for all nations and peoples. He demonstrated through word and action, to all who beheld him, that he was the true Son of God.
