When it was first preached, the ministry of Christ seemed to contradict Jewish belief - yet Jesus actually fulfilled the Truth of all the scripture and prophets that preceded him. Jesus and God, although two in entity, are one in nature, essence, construct, and substance. In other words, Jesus existed with God before all creation and came to be God in human form. In John's introduction to his testimony, he uses specific words and phrases to illustrate to his Jewish audience how Jesus is the One, how He is the living image of God Himself, and how we may, through our belief, be recreated in that same image. We are, through the grace of God, able to believe in Jesus' name and receive his nature, and to live fulfilling and joyous lives through our New Creation.
