The story of Abraham’s life: God sees from eternity future through the cross into eternity past and despite all Abraham’s failure and purposeful rebellion, God says Abraham obeyed and commends his faith. Abraham succumbed to family pressure, religious pressure, and personal responsibility instead of submitting to the voice of the Lord. It took Abraham many years before he obeyed; but God was still faithful to lead him to the land. That is how God deals with our failure and rebellion.
