Hebrews 11:31

Jun 13 2010 in
Hebrews

Rahab believed God merely because she had heard the stories and rumors. She trusted that the God who is God above the heavens and the earth must be a merciful God and a God of justice and she literally bet her life on this belief. Her faith was active and she extended mercy even before she asked for mercy. She identified herself with God and her faith was evidenced by the scarlet cord which was symbolic for the blood of Jesus. God honored the faith of this woman and ensured that this harlot, this gentile, this former idol worshiper was included not just in the great Hall of Faith but also in the lineage of our Savior Jesus Christ.
