Old Testament/New Testament always the same: without faith it is impossible to please God. By faith we know God created and ordered all things (the universe and our lives). Cain thought he could be good like God; but only God is good. Abel knew this to be true and offered the blood. God is not impressed with our offerings to please Him that do not come from faith.
