The old covenant was just a shadow of the new. The blood of animals could not take away sin; God demanded a body. Man sinned so man must be judged; thus, the Son of God became man to be judged for all mankind. As a result, we are sanctified! Therefore, religious acts of redemption can never improve our position with God. Jesus was the Father’s bondservant setting the example for us to follow.
